A paper wrapped around this photograph identifies her as "Ella MALLORY, sister of Birdie BURKE". Birdie MALLORY BURKE (1860-1899) had at least one sister, as well as five half-sisters, although none found so far were named Ella. Her dress appears to be in the mid-1880s style, and the photographer Clarence Deane had a studio at 117 1/2 Broadway in Hannibal from 1879 to 1884, but other than this the photo cannot yet be dated or identified with any certainty.
