Grave of Karen Kristensen in Sundby
"Karen Kristensen f. [født] Villerup [born] i Bedsted 10.8.1842 [died] i Sundby 27.11.1936 Herrens engel lejrer sig trindt omkring dem som frygte Ham Ps. 34, 8"
Karen NIELSEN was born 10 August 1842 in Bedsted, probably in Thyland, Denmark, or possibly in Vesterby. She married Niels CHRISTENSEN around 1860, and died 27 November 1935 in Sundby, probably in Jutland, Denmark.
The Bible quotation is from Psalms 34, verse 8: "The Lord's angel is encamped around those who fear Him."
Her name in some family records is Karen VILLERUP, but it does not seem that she was ever known by that name during her lifetime. She lived in a village called Villerup, in Thisted, for a while in the late 1860s and early 1870s.
